DAY 1:

From Leticia to Vista Alegre: Connecting, Sharing, Exploring in the Amazon

Our mission began in Leticia, Colombia, but a surprising change of plans redirected us to Vista Alegre, a captivating Peruvian village along the Amazon River. This unexpected turn occurred when our festival in Puerto Nariño was cancelled. A divine plan led us to Elkin, a young man from Vista Alegre. Their community welcomed us warmly and with enthusiasm for our mission. We share Bible stories and soccer strategies with more than 150 children and young people, and we also interact with adults. Our day concluded with a fishing excursion, marveling at the natural beauty. This divine detour highlighted God's grand design, turning an initial setback into a rewarding opportunity at Vista Alegre, where we connect, share, and explore.

DAY 2:

Zaragoza: A Warm, Memorable and Full of Commitment Return

The second day of our mission in Zaragoza, Colombia, felt like a homecoming. Unlike last year's challenging trip, this year's high waters allowed for a smooth entry. We were warmly greeted by familiar faces, sharing joy through simple acts like handing out Dollar Tree balloons. Despite the physical absence of our beloved teammate Margie Oden, we celebrated her birthday, fostering a strong sense of unity. We also witnessed the transformation brought by our previous help: a multipurpose boat, symbolizing our commitment to spreading the Word. Thus, Day 2 not only involved activities with children and soccer practice, but it was also about renewing ties, celebrating shared moments, and reaffirming our commitment to service.

DAY 3:

Connect Global in Leticia: Bridging Borders in Our Mission

Day 3 in Leticia Amazonas was about unity, collaboration and expanding the reach of Conectar Global's latest production, El Corazón del Discipulado. We had an enriching meeting with 35 Christian leaders from Brazil, Peru and Colombia, with the objective of strengthening ties, equipping leaders and promoting the growth of the Conectar Global formation. Despite diverse backgrounds, our shared commitment to Jesus' Great Commission united us. We visited the Amazon School of Missions, appreciating the unique efforts of the indigenous missionaries. The variety of cultures we impacted underscored the far-reaching effects of our mission. The day highlighted the power of collective effort, intensifying our determination and vision for missionary work.

DAY 4 AND 5:

Quiver: Testimony of Providence and New Beginnings in the Amazon

During days 4 and 5, we visited the Aljaba Foundation, a shelter for children in extreme poverty, whose growth from 8 to 92 children is a testimony to God's providence. Despite past adversities, the atmosphere was filled with joy and resilience. We spent two days interacting with the children, sharing songs, Bible stories and listening to their aspirations. On the fifth day, 25 children awaited baptism, symbolizing their commitment to Christianity and new beginnings. The joy on their faces spoke volumes of their faith and hope for a brighter future. At their core, these two days were deeply emotional, reaffirming our commitment to serving the vulnerable and reinforcing hope, leading to a transformative experience.

Missions Connect Global

Amazon, Colombia and Peru

The Amazon leaves a strong and lasting impression on those who visit it. The immensity of its river, the powerful call of its sunrises and sunsets, and the extension and thickness of its forests are reasons enough for the visitor to feel in close connection with this unique manifestation of creation. However, its greatest wealth lies in its people. There are hundreds of beautiful children whose livelihood depends on a family environment dedicated to artisanal fishing in what is considered the longest river system in the world. The population of the Amazon is simple, but at the same time, full of wisdom and open to the transforming power of the gospel.

Youth Impact Camps

Compassion is one of our key values at Conectar Global, and we express this through our Social Action plans.
The food distribution program allows us to reach vulnerable families who receive a supply of groceries at no cost to them. This is achieved thanks to the donations of people committed to the vision of Conectar Global and our team of volunteers on the ground who connect with the need every day.

Youth Impact Camps have proven to be a powerful tool to positively influence children and young people from vulnerable areas with the principles of the Bible and the love of God. Our alliance with local churches and international ministries has allowed us to provide them with unique experiences of formation, recreation and spiritual growth since 2012.

Conectar Global Festivals

BACKGROUND

Since December 2020 we decided to implement a new dynamic with the country's children and youth population; due to the absence of in-person camp activities due to pandemic issues and others. That is why we implemented the idea of the CONECTAR GLOBAL FESTIVALS, FOR LIFE AND COEXISTENCE, these festivals have the following course.

APPROACH

At Conectar Global, we are convinced that Colombia has hope and we are working to make this happen. We understand that the country has conflicts and that the danger is latent, which is why we must continue the missionary work that Jesus, the “Go and Do,” left us. He continues and will continue to inspire our hearts forever.

In our organization we are convinced that whoever captures the attention of children and youth will in turn capture the present and future of the Country. Our intention is to go where no one has gone and bless those who have not been blessed. At Conectar Global we are very encouraged by the idea of investing resources and time in this abandoned Colombian population segment that is little taken into account by the state.
